Trussdee gives every new admin and family member a personal setup guide at Setup Guide in the left navigation. It lists the tasks worth doing before you rely on Trussdee's reports, and you decide, step by step, when each one is done.
A progress card appears at the top of the dashboard until every step has been reviewed.
Once you leave the guide, a Continue Family Setup button (admins and managers) or Continue Account Setup button (members) stays in the header on every other page.
The guide also sits in the left navigation under Family Organization as Setup Guide.
You set each step's status yourself. Trussdee does not mark anything complete on its own.
Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
Not Reviewed | Default state, nothing recorded yet |
Marked Complete | You confirm the step is finished |
Not Needed | The step does not apply to this family or account |
Do Later | You are deferring the step for now |
A step counts as reviewed once it is Completed, Not Needed, or Do Later. The guide is fully reviewed, and the progress card disappears, once every step reaches one of those three states.
Admins and managers see a family-level guide with these steps:
Add People: add everyone Trussdee should report for. You can save a person now and send their invitation later.
Define Households, Entities & Shared Ownership: build only the structures this family actually uses. A simple family can mark this step Not Needed.
Connect or Add Accounts: connect each institution once. Trussdee places checking, investment, mortgage, and credit card accounts in the right asset or liability section automatically.
Import Account History (recommended): upload available history, especially investment transactions, so performance, net worth, cash flow, and investment charts carry more history.
Assign Account Ownership: assign each account to a person, household, entity, or shared ownership structure.
Review Data & Historical Charts: resolve outstanding account or holding issues, then rebuild historical charts.
Review the Family's Reporting: check the Ownership Map and key reports against how the family should see its wealth.
Invite Family Members: invite people whenever you are ready. This step is optional and does not block any other step.
Members without admin or manager access see a personal guide instead:
Add Your Accounts: connect institutions or add manual accounts. Accounts you add start private.
Choose Who Can See Each Account: review every account you control and set it to Only me, My household, or Family managed.
Add Available History (recommended): upload investment, checking, and credit card history to improve your own reports.
Review Your Reports: check your overview and portfolio performance for accuracy.
Update Your Reports if Needed: if you changed history, ownership, or access afterward, Trussdee tells you when your reports need an update.
The account section formerly called Financial Accounts is now Checking & Investing. It covers checking, savings, brokerage, IRA, 401(k), and other investment accounts connected from an institution or entered manually. Old bookmarks and links to the previous page redirect automatically.
Look for the white question-mark button in the lower-right corner of the app. It can answer questions about how Trussdee works using product code and help documentation, but it cannot access your family's data in the database. For anything else, email [email protected].
